Trained as a commercial knitwear designer and with a PhD in Design for Recycling, Cathryn works with many different types of brands exploring circularity and recyclability through a design lens. She works with fashion & textile brands, suppliers and manufacturing facilities and offers a holistic perspective of how industry can design with recycled fibres and for future recyclability.

RESEARCHER PURSUING NEW KNOWLEDGE FOR CIRCULAR DESIGN WITH INDUSTRY
As a practice-based researcher, Cathryn explores circular textile design within Industry. Working as a postdoctoral researcher at University of the Arts London and Design School Kolding her research currently spans Design for Textile Recycling and Bio-Inspired Textiles. Cathryn's doctoral research, at the Centre for Circular Design under Professor Kate Goldsworthy and Professor Becky Earley, explored material longevity within the mechanical recycling industry.
EDUCATOR FOR THE CIRCULAR DESIGNERS OF THE FUTURE
As a lecturer, cathryn's experience spans talks, webinars, studio-based & online workshops, seminars and student supervision. Her expertise include
sustainable/circular textile design, design for textile recycling, production/manufacture and professional development, all drawn from her experience within industry and academia.
